Our Great Hope

Greetings sisters!

I hope you are strong in the Lord today?!

Jesus is our great hope of salvation! He shed His blood and made the way to be delivered from God's wrath to come if we will follow after Him with our whole life.

If we believe the scriptures, we know that we must ENDURE in the gospel striving to overcome sin and the flesh. I've been digging through Hebrews and of course there is so much depth in there.

"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;"

Hebrews 2:1-3

That's pretty powerful. We know of the punishments that happened to those who transgressed the old law (no mercy and instant death). But what a long-suffering God who gives all a chance to repent but who will punish with sorer punishment in the end those who trample the blood of His Son and go on sinning wilfully. Oh may that NOT be us sisters! That's pretty serious. How great is the deception out there among those who claim to be believers. There will be no mercy in the end for those who sin on especially against knowledge, light and truth. But there is great hope for those who overcome and obey! No it's not easy necessarily but it will be worth it having given glory to our great God through a life of holiness. May we press on in hope sisters!

Today I just want to share verses on hope to encourage you sisters in the hope to come for those who obey Him.

"If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;"

Colossians 1:23

"And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Romans 8:23-28

"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."

Romans 15:4

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"

1 Peter 3:15

What great hope we have in Christ. May we be prepared to share that with those who ask, with meekness and fear as it says. What a precious thing we have to give! A gift that never could be bought...no not with the gold and silver of the whole world!

Reminds me of what Jesus told His disciples...

"freely ye have received, freely give."

Matthew 10:8

I hope these verses blessed you sisters! Let us strive on through "good" times and "bad", being obedient, submissive, meek and quiet keepers at home, bearing Christ's reproach, shining our lights and showing the hope of the gospel to the lost and deceived.  May we patiently endure until our hope becomes sight.

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."

1 John 3:2-3

Love in our Lord,
