Today's Edification (3 May 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Another day. Another post. And the Lord is good and merciful. I hope all is well with you all. Let's all keep going in well doing!

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Romans 2:7

It leads to eternal life! Obviously we need to have all the things we need in place like believing in Jesus and repenting and being born into His family (which is His miracle in us) etc but for those of us who are abiding in those things...keep patiently continuing in well doing!

Also reminds me how Paul said if you do many wonderful works without love...it's to no avail...so let's do everything with godly love sisters! Love to the saints, love to the rest of our neighbours, and unto our enemies too!

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Romans 13:8

I owe my sisters love! And I can do that by edifying you here! And talking to and caring about the ones I do have in my life. And praying for you. Although we are all scattered we are only responsible for what we can do. God knows our hearts.

For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Galatians 5:5-6

Faith which works by love...that's good to ponder the depths of.

This scripture hit me as being rather profound...

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
1 John 4:20

Ponder the depths of that sisters. We sure see how wrong it is to not love our 'brother' or sister more likely in our case who we may have 'seen' and to claim to love God who we haven't even seen. It has a serious reality to it to ponder.

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1 John 5:1-4

So many things all interrelated in there. We can overcome the world too...because our Savior has!

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

I was listening to scriptures and this stood out...

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

John 18:4-8

Sometimes we can read or listen to parts in the Word and not truly picture what is going on. The world coming out to get Jesus with all their swords and ready to fight but then Jesus asks them who they're looking for and tells them that's Him! Tells His disciple who lashes out with a sword to put it away and heals the man's ear the disciple cut off. I'm sure it was quite a scene. So thankful Jesus surrendered His will to the Father's...and that was to die for us. He drank that cup. Thank you Jesus. And we sisters now serve Him and obey Him because we are thankful. They're not just empty words.

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
John 18:36

So too the kingdom we are seeking is not of this world. That's why we don't get entangled with all the affairs of this life and satan's kingdom (politics, patriotism etc) isn't it. We seek first God's kingdom and righteousness and strive to enter!

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2 Timothy 2:4

I've had a fruitful day. Spent my morning at a cleaning job and then made some pumpkin crumble and worked towards headcovering sewing and other bits and pieces which all add up to a busy day. Got all the fabric ironed...it's actually quite difficult to cut out squares so big. But just do my best and most important that they work as coverings I guess which they sure do even if they don't line up completely 100% perfectly some times! I wear them and I know other sisters do too and whoever buys them. We sisters say goodbye to stressing about perfection don't we and focus instead on 'perfection' spiritually which is most important.

It's amazing all the spices God made...

I was making up pumpkin spice mix for the crumble. He could have made foods that all taste the same but there's almost limitless varieties of tastes and combinations! Such an awesome God for all He has made!

I would share...

The whole pumpkin goes to good use!
They must have strong sharp teeth to crunch through those tough skins! (Just teeth in themselves are amazing creations and just one part of creatures and us that help make the rest work! Always something to marvel at for being so well designed by God!)

Pretty creations He made...

To God be the glory for all good things He has made. I was thinking the other day...if you're ever feeling a little down or something. Make yourself go outside at night on a clear night and lift up your eyes and see the stars and marvel at our great Creator. It always has a way of filling you with awe! Makes you feel small too and yet the Lord cares.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psalm 8:3-4

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psalm 19:1

I hope all your godly woman's works are going well wherever you are! I like thinking about sisters who just do what the Lord created them to do...just like the bees and butterflies and birds do what He made them to do to this day. And we are blessed to have His commandments to walk in! And unlike the animals we get to go be with Him one day! We indeed have been made higher than the animals! We have dominion over them.

It's a simple life in Christ isn't it. We aren't seeking after the latest and greatest that the world is and even those in so called Christianity where people think they're seeing and hearing God and getting new revelations. It's His Word which we have had from the beginning but in the new covenant in Christ now! And He has fulfilled all things and is 'gone into a far country' and is preparing a place for us and will come and get His own one day! His Word is enough.

I recently had someone ask me if I wanted to know about a YouTube channel which helped people understand how the human heart works and mental things etc. That sounds like psychology to me. I said I don't go on YouTube and that His Word and Jesus is enough for me. They told me the Word isn't meant to be enough or on it's own but that God uses humans to give us new depths and things through the Spirit. But I said about there being false spirits also. I say Jesus is enough as He said this...

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28

When we go through trials which are hard to bear and which may break our hearts...who else but the great Physician should we go to? In a world filled with deception, where else can we go but to the eternal rock solid word of God? Pure truth. His Word is enough...can I hear an amen from all my sisters around the world?!

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4

Oh yes that doesn't mean we can't talk about the Word and dig deeper to learn more from it and some may teach from it and we women can teach other women in our areas but to say His Word isn't enough...well it just isn't true. Let God be true and every man a liar. Especially in such an age as ours of great peril and horrendous deception and satan as an angel of light and as a roaring lion and wolves in sheep's clothing and lying signs and wonders and many saying "Lord, Lord" and doing mighty works in His name yet who God doesn't know, those who creep into houses and lead captive foolish women, those with good words and fair speeches deceiving the simple, and Paul said ravening wolves would enter after his departure and false people rising from within speaking perverse things and on and on. We have been warned about a great falling away right sisters. It's so hard to find anyone to trust with the truth who actually personally obeys what they teach as well...like almost literally impossible but for His few children left.

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:13-17

His Word says it best. It is enough. Let's not be deceived sisters.

We know the heart of man is wicked. And we need a new heart by the Spirit. Of course the Spirit leads us but for healing of the heart...the Word of truth and the God of all comforts is more than enough! Amen. And yes it is an extra blessing if we are blessed with saints in our lives who also comfort one another. It's just so completely normal to have trials in this life in Christ...so it's good to remember that!

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

God is our hope sisters! We don't need to understand how our heart works. But we look outside of ourselves to our Saviour who gives us a new heart that desires all truth! We can read the Word about the heart. In fact I read some scriptures here on it.

I guess that's all for now sisters. So much to ponder from the Word and also testing all things to it from what we face around us.

Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
2 Corinthians 1:24

I want to be a helper of your joy! Keep standing and walking by faith sisters! Hold fast until He comes and...watch!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
