Today's Edification (4 May 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Hopefully you're pressing on in good works and standing for truth and holiness wherever you are! We all have things to stand against and how much we need His Word and all the rest of our armour to what? To STAND!!

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Psalm 29:2

Cold but refreshing mornings here. The air smells so good and fresh!

I sent this to a sister...

God's mercies are always new and a cause of rejoicing each day! Gives us hope doesn't it to get up and keep pressing on in the faith...not growing weary in well doing!

I've had a fruitful day serving and general work around the place here and some sewing things. I'm sure you've been occupied in whatever good works the Lord has for you. It's a blessing to be godly women doing good works!

Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
Acts 9:36

She is a good example for us! We want to be full of good works too!

I was listening to the Word as I worked and one of the areas was the sad story of Jezebel and her feminim that got her killed. It's what we don't want to be in any way right sisters. We have examples good and bad in the Word for our learning.

But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
1 Kings 21:25

A woman can be a helper for good to her husband but also sadly for the worse as well. My sisters are godly wives if they are married. Keep going in that calling sisters!

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
Proverbs 31:11-12

Cute story about them today. I heard a commotion going on with the chickens making a lot of noise so I went to look. I found the mother hen outside of her pen and no chicks to be heard or seen. All was silent except the mother (and other chickens) making very upset noises. I wondered if something had gotten them all. After awhile I heard some cheeping noises in the pen and little faces peeking out from under something and one ran out from behind a log! Lol cute. Amazing how they know what to do to hide from danger and that the mother makes different sounds to them to tell them what to do. There must have been a hawk or something around. I was thankful they weren't all gone! (We had a fox get a hen and all her chicks once 😔.) Maybe a lesson from nature about children obeying parents:-)

I'm thankful the Lord provides us with refuges from the world...whether that's our homes or some time away from the world for those who do have to live right among them (like a sister married to an unbeliever etc). But most importantly...the Lord is our refuge! So I wanted to read some scriptures on refuges today! I hope they edify you in pondering that and what a great refuge we have in God and in Christ!

Keep rejoicing in our Saviour! He is the good news to us and to the world!

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Romans 5:11

Much fervent love in Him,

Sister Chayil
