Greetings my sisters in Christ!
I hope each of you, few though you may be, are doing well in the Lord! That's most important isn't it though we care about each other physically as well. When we have the Lord it helps us overlook much on this earth knowing we have a home in heaven where all things will be made new! But let us make sure we're enduring here now each day. There are many precious promises in Revelation to those who overcome! So let us be overcomers! We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us!
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 Corinthians 5:17-6:1
I decided to read some scriptures on 'new'! I'm sure they will be edifying and encouraging and you can search the scriptures on that subject too as there's more!
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Romans 11:20-22
We still have to fear and not be high minded. Sadly many of the once saved alway saved deception people actually are high minded thinking their salvation is locked up guaranteed no matter what they do...when this and many other scriptures say otherwise.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.Luke 3:9
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.1 Corinthians 15:1-2
Much is surely on us in this covenant. And it's not a passive thing at all this faith life but involves much action doesn't it.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.James 1:22
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.James 2:26
I've had another busy but fruitful day. I was out cleaning and shopping. It was another beautiful day in His creation...to His glory.
It's such a different world that we live in today than Bible times. But despite all those changes, and 'advancements', man is the same in his heart...needing a new one by the Spirit. Man is seeking after the newest and next greatest thing but still the 'old paths' of faith in God and following after Him (and His Son) as the one and only true God remains and those who seek those paths diligently, find it! It's a narrow path but leads to eternal life!
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.Jeremiah 6:16
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:13-14
