Today's Edification (11 July 2024)

Greetings to my sisters!

My sisters are those who do the Father's will! Those who have been made new through the Spirit by the good news of our precious Saviour! My sisters are in the process of enduring in the faith to the end and that is where I am coming here to help build you up to do just that! We know we must keep the faith! We do not want to have believed in vain nor have received God's grace in vain.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Let us cleave to the Lord, abiding in Him, bearing much fruit for His glory.

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 Corinthians 6:1

Here's some more scriptures on the Lord taking pleasure in things and what's pleasing to Him (or isn't)...

I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
1 Chronicles 29:17

Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
Ezra 10:11

For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
Psalm 5:4

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Ezekiel 33:11

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luke 12:32

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Ephesians 1:5

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Ephesians 1:9

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Hebrews 10:38

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Revelation 4:11

We want to please Him don't we sisters! He is so worthy and good! I shared some scriptures the other day about what He delights in and then there's more we could ponder and look up about what is acceptable and pleasing to Him too! (I just chose the word 'pleasure' today.) We're blessed to have been told all this aren't we. Let us labour to find out what pleases Him and do it!

I hope all your good godly woman's works are going well, my sisters. Press on in them as unto the Lord and don't grow faint in doing them day after day or in fighting the good fight of faith!

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:9
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luke 18:1
And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Revelation 2:3
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Hebrews 12:3
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Hebrews 12:5
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16

Faint not my sisters and I'm here to help you not to! Lord willing I will be back sharing more encouragement from the Word with you tomorrow. Each day and all we do in it, are not to be taken forgranted. We may do something consistently for years and then something may change and we aren't able to. Let us not take all good gifts from above lightly! He gives...and He can also take away but He is our portion! And all things work for good for us who love/obey Him. Strive on as good sister soldiers!
