Today's Edification (9 June 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Hope you're good in the Lord today! He is worthy. I'm here to share some simple edifying in the faith from the Word today!

Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Hebrews 12:12-13

Here to encourage you to keep pressing on after the Lord and all His holy ways. It will be worth it all! More than worth it to be with Him for all eternity having escaped the place of weeping, gnashing of teeth, being eaten by worms, darkness, thirst, and flame...eternal torment. Serious this life and the choices we make. Very serious.

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Luke 16:27-31

And really so many people today have the scriptures right in front of them and are even reading and memorizing them. The gospel of Jesus and the path to eternal life is in the Word. If they hear not Jesus how much sorer punishment shall they get. There's just so much deception in this world and they're reading the Word through the eyes of our time. Blindness, hard hearts, seared consciences, strong delusion, and being turned over are very real.

But I was there in deception once. Not taking the scriptures seriously enough nor really fully realizing that sin leads to death. And I'm sure all you sisters were one way or another too before you were in the truth and God's child. None of us say we were without sin and still aren't capable of it.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 1:8-10

I was thinking how this world is full of choices. Choices of food, of kitchen gadgets, of technology, of religions, of 'gods', of denominations etc. But really there is only two choices that matter for eternity serve the one true God and His Son Jesus Christ, or satan (which includes false jesus). Heaven or hell. The broad or narrow road. Obedience or disobedience.

Let us keep choosing until the end whom we will serve! As for me and my house I will serve the Lord!

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Joshua 24:15

I'm sure my sisters say the same!

I wanted to read some scriptures on 'one another' to edify us. Just some things we are to do to one another.

I hope all your duties are going well sisters. Keep being faithful in them! Consistency is a good thing. And it's a real blessing to be able to work and not have to be confined to bed sick or in prison with little freedom! Remember all our blessings sisters! Lord willing I shall be back here after travelling back to the children's. The Lord is the preserver of our lives daily and everything that happens He allows and no matter how hard some things may be...consider Job...we still keep trusting in His goodness and remember how in the end God mercifully gave Job back more than he originally had!

Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
James 5:11

We know all things work for good for those who love Him...including chastisement. That's not joyous but afterwards is a good thing!

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Hebrews 12:11

Strive on my sisters! Abide in Christ's love by keeping His commands. And ponder on His great love and mercy and go forth in your day rejoicing! (or sorrowing if you need to repent. And it's normal to have sorrow in this world at times.) Look to the Saviour who saves and has overcome the world!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
