My Sisterly Love for March 5th

Good day sisters!

How's today going for you? Does this apply to you and to me?

"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"
Colossians 1:10-14

I hope so.

I saw this verse today. It's the account of the healing of the lame man who had been in that state for over 40 years (imagine that!).

"Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."
Acts 3:6

And thought how much more that lame man got than he was expecting (money). He got physical healing but how much more wonderful is the precious message of the gospel and the Word that we have to give because of what we have received!

"freely ye have received, freely give."
Matthew 10:8

Which reminds me....I noticed this today on a scripture wall hanging we have.

It says "Not for sale". I like that. The Word of God is free! And that's a good thing about blogs and the internet, it's free. We can freely give truth, love, care, and help to other believers and the lost. We can offer them the hope in Christ...freely.

Reminds me of what Paul said in Acts 20:35...

"It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Which also make me think of the best gift that God gave to the world - His Son!

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

He gave the best gift and what has He received...that same gift being completely  trampled by most of mankind. That's so sad. May it not be so with us sisters. He is Almighty God and no one will lightly escape who has despised His beloved Son.

"Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Hebrews 10:29

And so we have the gospel of how we can be free from sin and new creations in Him.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
2 Corinthians 5:17

And we can look forward to this too...

"And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."
Revelation 21:5

Here's an example of a godly and kind woman of old for us sisters.

"And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people."

 2 Kings 4:8-13

And for her reward she got a son.

What she did reminds me of the qualifications for the widows in Paul's day...lodging strangers and being hospitable.

"Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work."
1 Timothy 5:10
"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
Hebrews 13:2
"Use hospitality one to another without grudging."
1 Peter 4:9

It's an interesting one and one we don't often think of, yet it is to be one of the good things that we godly women have as it says in Titus 2 as well, "teachers of good things".

It means...

Which also reminds me of this...so it is important.

"Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee ? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 25:37-40

When we do these things, we do them to Christ. And if we don't, then we don't do them to Him. That's something sobering for us to ponder and check our lives on.

And I had no idea what I was going to write to you this evening but this is what turned out. I hope it has blessed and encouraged you in some way.

And here's the first pumpkin soup of the year I made tonight. We'll be having heaps of those. I have two different versions of this soup that I switch between. Maybe I'll share what I do sometime since I make so many of these.

And a scripture from my sister in the Lord.

And a beautiful flower creation from the Father for my sisters...with love.

I hope your day goes well in whatever you do. May it bring glory and honour to the Lord.
