Today's Edification (17 May 2025)

Greetings sister saints!

Here's another opportunity for me to write to you again. And another day for us all to be striving after the kingdom of God! We don't know how many days we have on this earth. We want to be ready at all times don't we. We shouldn't put things off related to eternity. It's really a serious thing this life.

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

Hebrews 3:7-15

Let us have humble surrendered hearts and be careful lest we fall from our own stedfastness. We must endure to the end to be saved so let us continue in our faith.

So it's time for a catch up picture post of any that have accumulated since my last one of these posts! Time seems to move on fast so it's been awhile but sometimes life seems like a lot of the same things yet each day is unique too! But the Lord is pleased if we are content and thankful to do what He has in our lives. So let's keep doing that as faithfully as we can!

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

Beautiful view from bed one morning...
Always good to ponder on His mercies and set our minds right for the day.

Still some going on in the garden...

I planted more carrots and garlic.

Trying some globe artichokes, so we'll see how they go I guess!

And yes the cow and calf got into the garden and ate a lot of the cauliflowers so yeah there's sometimes a lot that can go wrong! I had put some bird netting over some to keep out the cabbage butterflies so thankfully she didn't eat those! But cows just do what they do and eat a lot! There's lots of hay needed this year as it's been unusually dry.

I would share healthy snacks...

Starting on using the pumpkin harvest...
You get a good work-out cutting into these big ones!

I would share lasagna...

It's a special time when you focus on our Lord's sufferings for our salvation...

He wants us to do this. We do not want to forget His great sacrifice, His broken body and shed blood, the pain and suffering, for our eternal life. He died so we can live, the just - the perfect Lamb of God without sin - for the unjust...we sinners who are worthy of death. Praise God for His forgiveness and that we can be cleansed from all sin! And we are set free from the bondage of it too so we can walk in newness of life!
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:7-9
What a blessing and gift beyond measure! Let us strive to walk worthy of this. Worthy is the Lamb!

I have been busy working on sewing little girl's dresses too!
These are for my store so we'll see how they go I guess!

And I have several skirts to work on for customers too.

My sewing machine sometimes keeps sewing after I tell it to stop (which is not good!) but I'm finally getting it serviced and a new part for it so that will be good!

Still sending out orders every now and again...

And I am still working on keeping items stocked and ordering a lot of fabric (usually when it's on a good sale!) so there's always something going on with sewing in between everything else! I'm thankful to be able to have quite a variety of things to work on! Having useful things to do is a good thing and I'm sure you sisters are finding plenty to keep occupied in! Keep going in them as unto the Lord!

(Just a pretty still water view at a house I clean.)

I am still traveling back and forth to help at the children's too most weeks. Sometimes it involves night travel especially this time of year with the shorter days. I was driving slower through an area I know a lot of kangaroos are and sure enough I saw these two and then another later on...

It's seeding time here even though it's really dry. Hopefully some good rains soon. The children really loved watching this up so close!

But it still looks like a desert in many places...

Lack of water means lack of life so water is an amazing and essential part of life on this earth. And of course we need spiritual water to live as well!

You can see a cloud of dust in the distance here too.

The drier sunnier weather does give you more beautiful days...

But it's necessary to have cloudy cold rainy days too! There's so much variety in His creation!

There was a pretty morning rainbow this morning...

Thankful for some rain here too! God is faithful! His mercies and compassions fail not and His promises are sure! Let us seek first His kingdom and righteousness and He will provide all we need. No, not all we want as that's not good for us, all we need. And we really need very little, yet we have so very much! Let us be content with simple food and clothing and very grateful when we have more than this!

Pretty sunset clouds when I was out shopping one day...

And there was this glowing sunset on another day...

So indeed from the rising of the sun to the going down thereof the Lord's name is to be praised!
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
Isaiah 45:5-6

Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.

Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised.

The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

Psalm 113:1-4

For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.
Malachi 1:11

So let us keep pressing on in all our duties for Him! He sees all! Much love to you in the faith. Lord willing I will be back to share some edifying tomorrow though we know not what a day may bring forth. Hold fast to the truth sisters!
