Today's Edification (25 August 2024)

Greetings sisters!

I'm hoping you're all strong and stedfast in the faith today! Let us pray for the saints to endure to the end. We know they're all out there where the Lord has them enduring much the same trials as us all. Humans are all very much the same but we do have different lives too...whatever the Lord has for us! And we have the same great Father who helps us overcome the adversary and all things.

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1 Peter 5:9
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:18
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:16

Our brother Paul gave us a good example of praying for the saints...

We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Colossians 1:3, 9

Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
Ephesians 1:16

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
Philippians 1:4

I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
Philemon 1:4

I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
2 Timothy 1:3

Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
2 Thessalonians 1:11

We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
1 Thessalonians 1:2

He is a good model for us to imitate.

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

1 Corinthians 11:1-2

I love this scripture...

O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
Jeremiah 17:13-14

I sometimes pondering all the titles and descriptions of the Lord our God. He is the hope of Israel! He surely is our hope too and indeed we are spiritual children of Abraham by promise.

I was pondering how amazing it will be to actually see the Lord and be in His presence one day. Now we walk by faith not sight and He has spoken to us through His Son whom we are to hear and has gone to prepare a place for us. We know we are absent from the Lord while on this earth although His Spirit is with us and He is not far from any of us, as in Him we live and move and have our being. But heaven is different and we see glimpses of it in Revelation with the throne and those around it worshipping Him who is worthy!

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

2 Corinthians 5:6-11

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1 John 3:2

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 7:9-12

This is what we are living and preparing for! Others may think we are crazy spending our whole life on something we cannot see and denying the fleshly earthly 'pleasures'...but that is faith! And indeed it is like we are waiting for the bridegroom and we don't be spiritual adulteresses with the world while we wait. We are God's enemies if we do that. We do not love this world or this life. We are set apart for Him. We are not our own but bought with a price. Let us keep watching and waiting and ready for our great God and the pure home He is preparing for those found worthy!

Let us keep looking for that new heaven and earth where righteousness dwells! Strive on sisters! Look up! Our redemption draws nearer!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
