Today's Edification (3 April 2024)

Greetings sisters who love the Lord!

O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
Psalm 31:23-24

There's that hope too I've been pondering and sharing a lot here lately to encourage us all to hope in the Lord!

Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
Psalm 97:10

The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.
Psalm 145:20

Blessed to send out another headcovering order with the gospel! (This one's going to Austria of all places:-)

And I put in another order for more fabric for twenty more headcoverings. Want to keep stocked up in them all. I'm so thankful to be able to have a sewing shop and want to be faithful in it.

I'm also still looking for men's shirts to at least be able to put up a sewing tutorial on my blog here to make longer ones/tunics. We know that is the model all through the Word and you also just know it's right. One day I may get to the bigger city to be able to find what I need. And maybe I will be able to make my own pattern one day but it's usually cheaper to just be able to modify them. Anyway I be patient and just do what I can.

I made some good progress on the women's shirts...

I was just being generally thankful to be a godly woman being able to work with my hands in good things. I know my sisters are thankful for such things too. But just sometimes you realize the depths of it more or something:-) It's just peaceful and quiet and work that isn't in vain as it's to do with clothing and food and other general works to keep things going or in being a servant. And doing all things as unto the Lord.
For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
2 Thessalonians 3:7-8

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Colossians 3:23

I did a few minutes of research online on how to harvest and store pumpkins. Yep I'm no gardening expert but I want to do my best with what the Lord provides. So I waded through the pumpkin vine jungle hunting some ripe ones.

It said about making sure you leave about 10 cm of stem on and curing them on their side for a week or more in the sun. Of course only harvest the ones that seem ripe where the stem and leaves are dying off and they are their correct colour. And it also said to store them on their side in a cool place. I guess that's in the house here for me. There will be a mountain of pumpkins on the dining room floor for a long while!

I would share...

Thankful for the Lord's provisons.

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
Genesis 9:3

He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
Psalm 111:5

Next Proverbs readings here...

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Revelation 22:14

Was pondering that scripture...about having the right to the tree of life. Will you have the right to the tree of life? Will I have the right to the tree of life?

So it made me study that word and ponder on it so I share a few scriptures with the same original word.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
John 1:12
For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
Mark 13:34

But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
1 Corinthians 8:9

For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
1 Corinthians 11:10

I love looking into the depths of His Word.

I was also pondering gentleness that we sister saints are to have.

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
2 Timothy 2:24

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
Titus 3:2

And where do we get it from...

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
James 3:17

All good ways are from the Lord sisters!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17

All His ways are for His glory! When we walk in them it glorifies Him!

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
Psalm 115:1

When we obey we are simply doing our reasonable service and duty right sisters?!

So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
Luke 17:10

The Lord gives us love and pity for our enemies and you really hope all people repent and see what they are doing. He convicts us to return good for evil.

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Luke 6:31-36

I was pondering this scripture also...

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 9:27

Paul knew there was a means he could also be a castaway...even after he had preached to others. I was thinking about his life and how he had times of travel...which was slower than travel today, and also he worked and also spent time in jail which sure would allow a lot of time to ponder and examine your own life. None of us are better than him so we all need to be careful and make sure we aren't slipping or becoming blind in areas which could result in us being castaway in the end. I don't want that for anyone.

Even Jesus retreated to the wilderness...

But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
Luke 5:15-16

Things to ponder. Make sure you spend time to 'be' His daughters sisters and to be like Mary not Martha.

I wanted to read some scriptures on faith...

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2 Timothy 4:7

Keep the faith sisters!

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
Luke 17:5

I say amen to that too. And I'm sure my sisters do also.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Psalm 103:1

Amen!

Grace, mercy, peace & love to you,

Sister Chayil
