Today's Edification (14 April 2024)

Greetings sister saints!

A new day of His mercies! Are you hoping in His mercy today?

Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
Psalm 33:18

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Psalm 147:11

Today I got to watch the sun rise! I just stepped outside to take a video to capture the loud birds but then I saw some kangaroos and some beautiful fog so walked a bit further to where I could see the sun come up. I wanted to share this video. You have to have the sound up to hear the beautiful birds! So awesome creations to His glory! I could hear the ocean roaring too.

Such an ordinary part of His creation that has happened every day since the beginning but it's always refreshing like a new start! And so beautiful most times except perhaps on really cloudy days. But we sisters are always thankful for another day to serve Him as He is always good no matter what!

And there were other creations to look at too...

And lots of sparkles in the dew. Of course the human eye is better than pictures or videos.

Just various good, pure, and true things in a dark world.

Beautiful.

I got my little heater out for the first time as it was an extra chilly morning...

We all have so many blessings don't we sisters.

Then the sky turns to brilliant blue later in the day...

All the glory to the Creator of course! He could have made the sky white or grey all the time but it's beautiful and blue with pure white clouds a lot of the time.

And more little creations to see too...

And more food blessings...

And satisfying to see what is stored up...

Not much fruit this year but thankful for whatever...

Just doing what's in front of me to do and that's what you're all doing I'm sure!

Picking out the largest garlic cloves for planting coming up soon...

Some of them are giant. That way hopefully they'll produce big bulbs next time. Let's see. Only the Lord knows if we will live to do this or that! We probably don't want to know the future then we'd worry about things ahead of time wouldn't we...so let's just take each day at a time sisters but yet there's hope in the future as the Lord will be there for His own! So that's a bright future no matter what. I'm sure there will be many blessings in it for all of us and many trials too. And He will give us the grace to bear all what He has for us and He doesn't give us more than we can bear and we are to cast our cares upon Him for He cares for us! He is too good to us. Let us go forth in our days with boldness and trust in Him!

Today I read some scriptures on 'righteousness'...

We know it is essential to have righteousness for our finding eternal life through Christ's righteousness.

We especially as women want to look at our lives and make sure we are doing the best for the Lord within them. We may not be able to leave a situation or change it but keep testing what we do do to make sure there's nothing we either shouldn't be doing or should be doing and aren't. We abide where we have been called and labour for the Lord...in all good works...the best we can in the situations. Labouring for the Lord is not just in say gospel ministry or being able to spend more time on spiritual labours like on a blog no...everything we do is working for Him if done unto Him out of our obedience to Him and so our labours are not in vain in the Lord! He commanded we work with our hands. He commanded we be keepers at home. Mothers love and raise their children. Servants be obedient to their masters. Every obedience to His Word is not in vain!

I was thinking...if the Lord commands we stay in the calling we are called...doesn't that mean He will give us all we need to stand strong in it and not compromise? Indeed He will and we can trust in that. I am one example of that myself, to His glory, and there's no way I want to go back to my old life. I'm thankful He made the way for me and continues to do so. So if someone is truly seeking truth the Lord will give us what we need to stand in it. Like a sister married to an unbeliever...that's going to be very hard to be sure but if you know the truth is the truth then you don't compromise for anything. To be sure there may be situations we can't stay in but the Lord has power to keep His own wherever they are doesn't He.

But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.

Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

1 Corinthians 7:17,20,24

We are the Lord's work and He adds to His body.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 1:6

And we know we are appointed to sufferings so it's nothing strange if we do have hardships! They are not worthy to be compared though to the glory to come if we endure! Yet we also need to keep working out our salvation as we haven't attained yet and we can't think we're anything for a second lest we fall. We're nothing. We have to keep running our race to the end to obtain the prize. We don't have it yet. But the hope is there! Press on with patience sisters looking unto Jesus who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself. Don't grow weary or faint in your minds.

I was thinking about pain and if we have it either sometimes or those who may have it constantly we can think of Jesus who went through way way way more pain and agony and shame for us. And He delivered us from an eternity of it if we are in Him. I can't imagine all He went through for us. We are so far away from what He did in time and we believe it by faith but may we remember it often and may it humble us to keep being thankful to Him. He had to surrender His will to the Father even though He could have easily gotten out of it. I'm so thankful He was faithful and I'm sure you sisters are too.

One day there won't be any pain though sisters! Or every other hard and 'bad' thing!
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Revelation 21:4-5

I was thinking...what people think or say either about us or others really has little value. It matters what the truth is and what God thinks!

Look what they said about Jesus who is pure truth...

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
John 7:12
Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
Matthew 27:63

We sisters who only speak and live the truth (strive our best to!) also may be similarly accused. So let's not let that discourage us at all because we love truth and hate every false way. God knows that. Speaking for myself at least. I trust you all do too if you're of the true faith.

And they also said and thought this about Jesus...

Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil? Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
John 8:48-49

We sisters may be thought of as deceivers or 'having a devil' or being workers of satan at least. We are no better than our Master so He knows the truth but let us therefore be careful what we say about others too. We know so little and we don't want to act as if we know everything.

A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
Proverbs 13:5

I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.
Psalm 119:163

Amen!

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:13,21-22

It says many in those two scriptures sisters. Let that not be us but may we do the will of God for us women. There's a lot of 'doing' to be done indeed. I can't imagine the dread and sinking feeling and terror and horror of being sent away on that great day by such a righteous Judge as He. No...may that never be. And I don't want that for any of my precious sisters or anyone else either. We only have one chance in our short life to get it right. There's something extra tragic to me about people who think they're going to heaven for sure (when they may not be although we can never know in the end and for sure...that's God's business) than people who really don't know or who don't care. It can break my heart, it's just so perilous the times we live in and people can be so blind and believing many deceptions like that it's an easy road to heaven etc. But over and above people...God's glory must reign.

Just sharing all sorts of things here usually. I guess I contend for truth for women here too. I was also thinking how we need to be careful how much we rely on examples in scripture for what we should do as we were not there so do not want to add something that we do not or cannot possibly know. We have clear commands don't we sisters which I'm really thankful for. And we can sure get a good pattern for how godly women behaved in the New Testament. But we each have different lives and just if we see no examples of exactly what women did in our situations doesn't mean they didn't have them or something! We must just do our best in each situation the Lord calls us in right sisters?! We have much discerning to do but yet there is simplicity in Christ, and His Word says what it says.

I was also thinking we need to be careful with looking at who a book is written to. For example, Timothy and Titus are specifically written to brothers so that would mean we sisters don't automatically take everything that is taught for men, right sisters?! But we know there is much truth for everyone in all His Word. Just much rightly dividing of it to do.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Psalm 43:3

Praise God for His light and truth! We know that is Christ...He is the way, the truth, and the life! God is light! Christ came as a light into the world and now we get to shine as His lights.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:5

Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Philippians 2:14-15

One day if we overcome to the end we will be with the Lord and there will be no need of physical lights of the sun or moon!

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
Revelation 21:23-24

Keep walking in His light and truth until then, sisters!

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1 Peter 2:9

He guides us in His ways in this confusing deceived world with a complete and utterly terrible mess of false beliefs. How hard we need to cling to the Word sisters! It's almost too hard to fathom how much deception is in this world. Unbelievable. I look forward to being with the Lord in a place that is full of all truth. There's zero chance that anyone can make it out of this mess without the Word and the Spirit. The deception is just so powerful and there's so much strong delusion...from people who worship satan, atheists, 'non religious' people, religions which worship other gods, to even more dangerous varieties in those massive deceptions related to the faith of Jesus. And the dangerous thing about the latter is they most all claim to teach purely from the Bible. But when examined they also read and accept man's teachings and traditions especially people with names of man attached to their beliefs (like Luther, Calvin, etc). And we know satan uses the Word/truth too so in all this how cautious we each must be! Out of the multitudes of lies there is one precious and holy and pure way of truth...Jesus Christ and His commands! And it is our charge to each seek out the truth diligently.

These have been some of my favourite scriptures for awhile...

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Matthew 13:44-46

We seek the truth and then give up everything that is not truth, amen sisters? We know we are to lose our life for Him. Press on hard and fervently sisters. The battle is still on. We cannot lay our armour down yet.

Come soon, Lord Jesus. I hope all His sheep are not lost and it's His time to come soon. But let's keep labouring in various good works as He may well tarry awhile...we don't know. We can't let down our guard and not be found watching when He returns. Let's keep watching and being sober, sisters.

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Luke 12:35-40

All we have been called to do is our reasonable service for the One who died for us so let's rejoice to labour for Him until He comes!

Press on sister soldiers! Worthy is the Lamb who has made the way for us and defeated death!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
