Today's Encouragement (14 December 2023)

Greetings sisters who love the Lord!

Let us be thankful for our many blessings in this day He gave us! The past is gone...let us not long for what we had back there even if it was good. Let us live in today and be thankful for all we have as we know the Lord is merciful to us all! Let us be thankful to not have so many trials that we could have. And if they come...rejoice to know the Lord and have hope of eternal life!

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14

The more you walk this life in Christ...the more you learn the depths of what losing your life means and crucifying the flesh. We know we are no longer our own too! This is a huge contrast to where we came from and from the world who follows their heart and flesh.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

Luke 9:23-24

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Romans 8:13

Hearing of saints striving on no matter what is always greatly encouraging! One the other hand those who fall away can be discouraging but we must look to the Lord! But let us be standing strong for the Lord's glory and for others to be encouraged too. Let us consider others and not just be selfishly thinking of ourselves.

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

Matthew 18:6-7

Let us sisters remember to be strong in the Lord because it is right and also because others are watching and we do not want to stumble anyone.

The subjects of rest and refreshing came to mind today so I read a few scriptures to encourage you on them!

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Hebrews 4:11

I was thinking about how dangerous false doctrine set to music is. Since music tends to stick in your mind longer, satan can use it very well to get his deceptions across. And we who don't participate in either music or false doctrine just endure whatever we may have to hear in this world, knowing we're not defiled by our surroundings. The Lord can help us endure and overlook as much of this wicked world as we can! We are no better than anyone. But we are following after God's holy ways so we are very different...peculiar people.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

1 Peter 2:9-10

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Colossians 4:5-6

Keep fighting the good fight of faith sisters!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
