The Weak Things of the World

Hello sisters!

How are you doing in the Lord? Going about your duties as godly women with thankfulness and joy I hope! We're so blessed to be doing what we were created to do. God is good to have given us the Word where He told us these things. And we know the world may think we are in bondage or somehow depressed to have the biblical roles we do. It actually is quite the opposite as we know they are the ones in bondage to sin. In Christ we have been made alive and free from sin and servants unto God and righteousness! We want to be His servants don't we! And His willing servants too, rebelling against sin and the wicked one. God's ways are good when followed aren't they sisters, unlike man's corrupt ones which ultimately lead to death.

It's something we sisters often talk about...God using the seemingly 'weak' or 'foolish' things for His great purposes. We know the world is partial to the rich or the famous...but not so in God's ways! He can use us quiet submissive godly women too.

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

That no flesh should glory in his presence.

1 Corinthians 1:27-29

That last verse actually reminds me of one of the reasons a woman is to cover her head...because her hair is her own glory. And our life is all about God's glory not our own! Isn't that awesome sisters! We don't want any glory do we! It's all of Him and He has done everything and given us everything. What blessings and now we get to just do what we are supposed to in obeying Him. And one day we will get to be with Him in glory if we overcome until the end! All these things we do in obeying God's Word and commands are just what we are supposed to be doing and our reasonable service amen sisters?

So it's something we see often how God uses what the world despises and the small and 'weak' things for His great purposes.

We know a believing obedient woman can have great influence as in 1 Peter 3.

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

1 Peter 3:1

The obedient life of a holy woman can be a great witness or conviction. The woman being referred to as the 'weaker' vessel...but God can use the weak things as we know. And we may well be misunderstood as being ignorant or not knowing the scriptures or not loving them because we don't teach men and reason with them in the Word or if we reject corrupt associations. But we live to please God not men and what a comforting thought that God knows the truth! And it is Him we seek to please! Our life of actions of obedience can speak louder than words sometimes too. Our Saviour didn't always speak did He.

I also think of Moses. He was not one of elequent speech but God chose him to lead His people.

And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord ?

Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

Exodus 4:10-12

I think of Jesus being born to a lowly godly woman (and laid in a manger rather than in a king's palace).

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

Luke 1:46-53

And David facing Goliath...

David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.

1 Samuel 17:37

We can seem like that too sisters can't we as we know there are few true believers and the multitudes against truth around us can be great indeed. And we may think we are comparatively weak in comparison to some things we may consider mightier but God can use all such things can't He sisters!

We know we are to come with faith like a child too...

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:3

And we are to be like servants serving others...

But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

Luke 22:26

Those are just some ways that God has that are not man's ways who lifts up the mighty and the rich and the eloquent. And He can use us, quiet godly women going about our business too. But we are to be strong in the Lord boldly standing on truth of course!

Those ducks grow so much faster than the chickens...

Peaceful creations aren't they.

Tomato harvest coming up...

Good egg collecter this...recycled plant pot tray.

Some pretty birds in the trees at sunset...

Baby birds cuddled in their nest...

And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
Matthew 8:19-20

My day is almost over...

So beautiful is God's creation. It's all made by Him and for Him. All glory to Him!

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Colossians 1:16-17

And thank you sister for these scripture picture gifts of love to share here...

Amen sisters He is our Rock isn't He! We can build on Him and we shall not be moved!

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

Psalm 62:2

And may He be with you my sisters who love the Lord! Hold fast in Him!

Love in Christ,

Sister Michaela
