Not Like the Nations Around Them

Hello sisters!

I'm back again. And I'm glad you are too if you're reading this. Praise God for each day and that we all want to serve Him. Well I hope all who read this are truly my sisters loving the Lord and seeking all truth. That same hope we have is available to all through the gospel!

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

I'm grateful that God sent Christ into the world to save sinners. And we are made new, washed clean and called to be saints! Glory to God!

I was thinking how the children of Israel kept getting led astray by the pagans around them and falling to sins of worshipping their idols and other wickedness. We know that angered the Lord. So why do we think it is an any different temptation today because we know the heart of man is desperately wicked and there is no new thing under the sun.

When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

Deuteronomy 18:9

And so it seems today, the culture around the people who claim to be of God has allured them. We do know God always wanted His people separate unto Him didn't He. And especially in these last days of great deception and we know few will find the way how strong do we have to be in the Lord to cling to His truth and Word and keep ourselves unspotted from the world? Something to ponder and encourage us all in to stand strong and stand separate, sisters! But we have the Spirit but that doesn't mean it isn't a battle!

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

1 Peter 2:11

We see the idolatry of entertainment; books, TV, movies, sports, music, and every distraction to fulfill the lusts of the flesh don't we sisters. We see the love of money and fame, the pride, the vanity and immorality and all manner of evil. And many of these people are sadly ones who say they love God and believe in Jesus.

Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Matthew 15:7-8

Let us not be like that sisters. May our hearts be pure, close to God, made new by the Spirit, and then also our outside actions will also be honoring to Him. We have to act to change our ways don't we. It doesn't happen automatically. And for us women we know the scriptures have specific commands for us. It's all for our love of the Lord and what He has done for us!

We also know even good and pure things can become out of place too can't they such as if we women spent most all of our waking hours cleaning our houses to perfection (even if it didn't really need it) and none in the Word or about the things of God. That's just an example of course because even if something isn't sinful in itself it could become that way. We know we are to love God first and how can we ever do that if we spend more time and effort on things that are not what we should be most focused on at the time in our lives. Of course for a godly woman keeping the home or raising children would be very important and take a lot of her time but she would be doing it in a godly manner, with the right priorities, and raising the children in the Lord and being an example to them also and teaching them that this life is not about the things of this world but the Lord and the next life.

But we don't have to be like those around us do we sisters.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:13-14

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

Lamentations 3:40-41

I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Jeremiah 17:10

Some quick Titus 2 and daily provisions from the Lord...

We sisters are blessed to go about our works unto the Lord working with our own hands.

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

1 Thessalonians 4:11

And we know idleness is not something for God's people don't we. Let us not be like the world in their idle ways and pleasure seeking but instead working with our hands in good works...and there's a great variety of them isn't there sisters!

We sisters are often talking about how God's ways are so good when followed and so much higher than mans! Amen they are!

We often see the importance of charity among the believers. This is not based on a fleshly love but godly love as described in 1 Corinthians 13. It is a long suffering, forgiving, giving, caring, sharing, hospitable, kind love and ultimately looks out for the soul of the other. It is not based on selfishness or fleshly ways. We know we can only truly love because God first loved us! Everything good we have comes from Him!

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

1 Peter 3:8-9

Lord willing I shall be back tomorrow sisters! Hold fast to Christ and His truth! He is coming back again and preparing a place for us!

Love in Christ,

Sister Michaela
