Various Thoughts and Edifying

Hello sisters!

I'm back again with some edification in the things of God which will hopefully encourage you. I hope your day was fruitful in the work you do in the Lord. (Or it is or will be depending on what time of day you might read this.) Whether that was cooking or washing clothes or being a helper to a husband, or looking after children, or shopping, or working in a garden or any number of good things we may have to do.

I love this....

Amen! And praise God that we don't have to compare ourselves or do everything exactly the same.

"For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."

2 Corinthians 10:12

And that's because of love. And for anything that is not sin, we can bear with one another. One sister might do well at something and one who can't, may feel inferior. And there always is the danger of pride which must be killed but then again if we have the right focus on Christ and loving each other these things won't be.

"Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another."

Galatians 5:26

"For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?"

1 Corinthians 3:3

We don't want that sisters! Not even a tiny bit! True godly love that first of all loves the Lord and then the saints will not allow such things but will kill the flesh of sins that may be selfish and instead be long suffering.

We see and know in Titus 2 about how women are to teach other women to be good. That seems to have a wide meaning as to how we conduct ourselves as daughters of God, living holy lives of good character. It also teaches for us to be chaste as well which would encompass many details of how we do that in a wicked world. So not being jealous or longing for things you do not have would be a part of that which we would be aiming for always.

There is so much interrelations between aspects of God's Word and how we should live if we have been made new creations by the Spirit.

It also goes along with being content how God made us and also the place and role He has us in. In that we must have faith in God to know you are where He wants you, assuming of course that there is no sin in your life.

And we can examine our lives and use things for good that we don't like around us or bad situations and instead learn to find ways to benefit and grow from them, all for God's glory. We will remember that nothing can truly harm us if we are in Christ. If we love God we know all things work together for good. If we endure we will not have to worry about all the things that often take up our thoughts and minds and occupations. And we know there shall be no more death or pain anymore! Let us set our focus on things above sisters!

I started out talking about loving and how we sisters don't want to have any envy or compare ourselves to others (at least in ways we shouldn't). And now I'm talking about something else. Oh well! I've had a busy day doing much housework and some animal work too so I'm seeing the need for some rest. So it's just a bit of sharing for us sisters anyway.

Like it says here....

A good type of seeking to do well at something in edifying. There's so much in this world that it not edifying as we know! Let alone things that are plain not truthful. (Makes me think of all the people sitting idle in church buildings waiting for their leaders to edify them instead of looking to all edify each other as believers in appropriate ways.)

And there's value in words.

"Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men."

1 Corinthians 14:19-20

And may we minister grace to the hearers...

Like our Saviour and perfect Example...

"And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?"

Luke 4:22

I could not put much of a title on this post because it's so varied but it doesn't matter.

This storm front was rolling in this afternoon...

Which brought the tall tree branch down next to the washing line where I had just been hanging out clothes.

It was warm and windy...perfect for drying. Well for winter it was warm at least.

Well sisters that's it for my edification for the day. Praise God for the Word which has so many treasures for all things we need. How edifying it is! Way better than anything I can write here but I hope to bring some encouragement to you and share in the things of God for us sisters. It's also a light of truth going out into a dark world on the internet.

Until tomorrow (Lord willing)...

"Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work."

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Love in Christ,

...from one of God's daughters
