Running the Race...

Greetings sisters!

I hope you are doing well.

I'm back here again after a busy day.

I had to go on another trip into town for gas and I was able to give the friendly woman behind the counter a gospel card (and also pin one on a bulletin board in a store).

And I also had to do a little bit of grocery shopping...

Thank you sister for sending these encouraging scripture pictures...

A sister and I were messaging and I commented that I needed to think of something to make for tea with tuna...so she suggested tuna patties. And that's what I made:-)

And as I was cooking them, a family member was telling me about where the marathon race got it's name. I didn't care to hear such things but I commented about what Paul wrote about the spiritual race of this life we are to run. And it's exactly what this Christian life is; it's a hard race and not an easy relax in a church pew as sadly most seem to believe.

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds."
Hebrews 12:1-3

"Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

A sister and I were edifying and encouraging one another...

Exactly. Where are we promised an easy life? No where!

As Paul taught...

"Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God."

Acts 14:22

But we can have peace and joy and the Lord will give us strength in it all.

Let us sisters edify one another the best we can...until this race is over and we can rest from our labours with the Father.

And here's a flower for you sisters who love the Lord and are running the race in faith and obedience...

Lord willing I shall be back again tomorrow to help cheer you on in this spiritual race!

"And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."

Hebrews 6:11-12

Love to you in Christ,

...from one of God's daughters.
