News From a Far Country

Hello sisters!

How each day goes by fast!

Sometimes we have busy times with more things happening in our lives. And maybe other times are quieter perhaps. We all have different lives and things we have to face. And the Lord can give us what we need if we trust Him!

And we can trust God's promises!

And that includes the ones telling us we will have tribulation.

But we are to be of good cheer! He has overcome the world!

"For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."

1 Peter 3:12

I want to share this scripture today. (You might need to click on it to enlarge it, not sure.).

Sometimes we can just read scriptures but it takes more to dig in and let what they say sink in and make sure we are applying it in our daily lives.

Those sisters who might have a blog it really is like sending out letters on the internet.

As the saints are mostly scattered and few these days it reminds me of this verse...

"As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country."

Proverbs 25:25

Good news from a far country! How refreshing...like water to a thirsty soul! And we all know how good water is when we are really thirsty! And what better news to hear about a fellow sister saint striving on in the Lord! That is something to rejoice in! With sin, compromise, false ways, and destruction and more all around us in the world, it's a blessing to know of a sister standing stedfast.

Like we read of Paul greatly desiring to know how the saints were going.

"For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you."

1 Thessalonians 3:5-11

It's the love of the Lord, His truth, and the brethren. And so this blog may be a little like that perhaps...like good news from a far country:-)

There's so much deception around and a message for us sisters would be to be on guard and that it starts small with little compromises. It would be a state of the heart that if we don't keep examining ourselves we could fall in to it over time.

"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"

2 Corinthians 13:5

Let us not repeat what happened to Eve...

"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."

2 Corinthians 11:3

And for us women we look at, along with every area, the ones that pertain to us; our roles, our meek and quiet spirit, our submission, our clothing and covering. And in those and all other areas we need to beware of the subtility of the deception...especially since it's all around us. So may we grow in our maturity and we will be able to recognize truth from error and grow in our faith until the Father takes us home.

What a beautiful picture sent by a faithful sister across the world to me which I get to reshare here. And amen praise God for His Word!

And I thought this picture might make you smile. It summarises some of what I did today.

Heaps of sewing trials with my machine. Trying to get it set up to do what I wanted it to. Try one thing, try another but no change...still a thread snapping and making noises it shouldn't. Finally after much time and puzzling, I unscrewed something and cleaned out the build up of lint, it seemed to run smoothly again. But then I had to get it all set up for a new thing I was trying to do.

Winter veggie crop coming along...

Lord willing, I shall be back here tomorrow. And bring you 'news' and encouragement of a sister striving on in the Lord for God's glory and to edify and encourage you to strive on too sisters!

Press on in endurance for the hope set before us!

"Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

Titus 2:12-14

Love, joy, and peace,

...in Christ.
