Sharing Bits and Pieces From My Days

Greetings sisters!

I hope your day is (or was) good!

"Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."

2 Thessalonians 1:2

I would like to share a simple post with various things from the last few days of mine. I'm sure you all have those quieter days or ones that are in between where you have much to do or even days when things are so busy you don't even have much time to think and before you know it it's time to rest for the night. I'm sure you know what I mean. It's good to be busy and diligent in our work and not lazy of course as long as our focus and motives are right. There is much in scripture about working with our hands and as women we have much work to do in that area.

I share some pics from the garden...

Heaps of onions....

And hopes of a good harvest to come.

But not as important as the spiritual planting, watering, and final harvest.

"So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building."

1 Corinthians 3:7-9

We still have apples on the trees...

To eat fresh or make into desserts....

And this one reminds me of Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares...

"Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."
Matthew 13:29-30

And this is a picture of the run down old play house that my siblings and I had growing up...

We've lived here since 2001, and so about 20 years on it looks like that. If it had been diligently looked after, repaired, and the plants trimmed off it wouldn't have happened. Reminds me that we can't let anything slip and be neglected in our own spiritual lives or it will end in ruin.

I'm sure we can glean more lessons from it perhaps.

"Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands."

Proverbs 14:1

"I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man."

Proverbs 24:30-34

"And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection."

Luke 8:14

And our pear tree with it's autumn coloured leaves...

We're probably going through about a jar a day of the pears which we preserved in jars in the summer. It was hard work but it's been such a blessing to have that provision now.

We have a lot of limestone (and old walls) on the property...

They looked pretty in the evening sun.

As I was on my walk this evening I was walking in the cow's paddock (or field or whatever you want to call it) and was heading for the gate (you may be able to see it in the picture).

And so I was reminded of these scriptures...

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Matthew 7:13-14

"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."

John 10:9

"Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able."

Luke 13:24

The little lambs 'helping' me hang out clothes today....

It was a beautiful day for clothes drying. I sent a picture out my room window to a sister and she sent it back with the scripture.

And this one is interesting...

What it is, is a picture of a picture of a picture, very complex indeed:-) A sister sent me a picture of her current view and I sent one back of my view of the picture she sent me and she added scripture then the process repeated. (Thank you sister!) Anyway it's how long distance sisterly fellowship can work. We can share as we go about our keeper at home duties or as helpers and servants and share the Word in ways like this. The love and edification and encouragement of the brethren is a wonderful and precious thing indeed.

"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

Galatians 6:10

I hope all who read truly are of the household of faith. Test your life to the gospel (found below).

Well I shall leave it there sisters. I hope this could bless and edify you. May your day be fruitful in the Lord as we endure through this life shining for God's glory.

"Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life."

Jude 1:21

Love to you all!

...from a sister in Christ

You can find the biblical gospel here. It's very important we have that correct daily.
