My Simple Encouragement for a Simple Life in Christ

"Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward."
2 Corinthians 1:11-12

"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."
2 Corinthians 11:3-4

Well it's the first of January of a new year. As with each day, we know not what could happen in it or on the next day.

"Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."
Proverbs 27:1

...let alone a whole year.

So we do not know what 2021 may bring...because we do not know if we even have another day. I have learnt much about just trusting today to the Lord and not worrying about all the days to come in the future if we have them.

"Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."
James 4:13-17

Yes in Christ there is simplicity and freedom. Freedom from sin and all the things the world says you have to do and wants to do.

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:24-34

The Lord will take care of His children.

I am blessed to see my young niece and nephew for a week or so. That reminds me of the simplicity of faith that our Saviour spoke about us needing to have.

"And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
Mark 10:13-16

What a precious scene and I praise God for the sweet innocence of young ones.

Yes let us who have been made free in Christ through obeying the gospel rejoice in the time the Lord has us here whether that is one more day or a month or a year or 30 years.

Let us as godly women always be

"Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."
Ephesians 5:16

And often the jobs of a woman are so simple such as cooking or washing dishes or clothes. But let us do them in a manner worthy of our Lord bringing glory to Him in all things.

And a simple rose for my sisters:-)

I shall leave it at that for my simple encouragement for today. Lord willing I shall be back tomorrow. Have a fruitful and blessed day.
