Sisterly Love for December 18th

I hope you are doing well and standing strong in truth.

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."
(Titus 2:13-14)

Well I got to the end of the day with no clue what I was going to write. I don't panic about that as I can go to the Word and I am sure there will be something encouraging to share. And I am sure it isn't always the content of my posts (my words at least, God's Word is always good:-) but the thought and motive that I want to encourage and edify you sisters, present and future, who may read this.

So I went to the Word and on my Bible app came across where I had left off reading earlier...and I thought it was appropriate.

"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

And this will we do, if God permit.

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."
(Hebrews 6:1-12)

That's encouraging! It says God will not forget our work and labour of love shown to His name in ministering to the saints. That's something we can strive towards even though we are not face to face...considering we have such a high standard in Christ's perfect example! (It also talks about diligence and not being slothful...all things accompanying salvation.)

Goes along with this one...

"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
(John 13:35)

Jesus said to love as He had loved...and we know how He loved. He served the people around Him...and then laid down His life.

I am also reminded of the company of women that went around ministering to Jesus and His disciples. And the ones labouring with Paul in the gospel. There are many things a godly obedient woman can do like that...to love God and His saints.

And I just went on an evening walk and saw the sun set...again. It never becomes boring though. Praises to the Creator for the order and beauty He has set up.

And behind me the sun was shining on this flower.

And on my morning walk I took this flower picture for you (when you have dogs that need to be walked you get a lot more walking in than you normally would...it's a good thing refreshing in God's Creation).

Well you all have a blessed and fruitful day doing your work, whether it be seen as little or great, unto the Lord.
